When I place the card into the slot on the front of the computer (the 'G' drive), it's supposed to bring up the Camera & Scanner Wizard (I'm running XP Media Center Edition); however, it's not even registering the card's presence. Even when I go into Windows Explorer and try to open the 'G' drive from there, it tells me there's nothing in that drive. What's the problem, and how do I correct it?

All I know is that this is not an issue with the camera's driver software; XP Media Edition is set up to read SD cards.

You didn't state what type of card you're trying to use. I know that with my older camera, an Olympus D360, the card would only work to be downloaded to the computer via a serial port. My newer computer doesn't have a serial port, and even with adapters the software could not read the card. I was just thinking that perhaps it's something of that kind of problem that you might have. You might try sending an e-mail to the tech sjupport folks for your specific card and camera.

sparkling the cardboard's copper with alcohol and be positive the little activate the cardboard is flipped to 'on', and that it does no longer by risk change again off at the same time as sliding the cardboard in. also sparkling the contacts on the digicam itself ( the position the copper strains from the SD card make contact). Formatting a card that already has pictures will erase them AND the different digital report which will be on the cardboard ( MP3's and so on. ) upon formatting. So be positive to insert the cardboard right into a reader on your pc to be positive you keep any needed information. also you could insert the cardboard into the pc and properly click on the force which holds the cardboard to work out if the reminiscence is carefully loose. commonly erasing the cardboard on the pc quite of the digicam will provide it a sparkling format to then again format for the digicam.
