We are staying at the Royal Pacific resort hotel and were wondering if we should take advantage of Universal or bypass it for Disney?

I like the Universal parks better myself. But Disney is more geared toward the kiddies. Islands of Adventure (one of the Universal parks) has a portion called Suess Landing (themed around Dr. Suess) which is awesome and geared for children. The BEST ride is Cat in the Hat. Also, there is Nickolodeon Studios that you can tour through and see sets of some shows and the animations and such, which is fun for all ages. As an adult, you would probably enjoy the Universal parks more and would still have the chance to give the kids something fun to see/do.

Definitely bypass it. Walt Disney World is much better, whether you have young kids or not. There's pretty much nothing for your children to do at Universal Studios at this age, though, so it'd be a big waste of money. It's really a waste of time and money anyway. You can get through the Universal Studios Theme Park in less than a day. It would take you multiple weeks to complete everything at Walt Disney World. There's four incredible Theme Parks, two awesome Water Parks, plus Downtown Disney. The Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot each take a minimum of two days, the other Parks each take about an entire day. The children will have such a great time at Walt Disney World. They may not remember the trip when they're older, but you'll always remember the amazing time you had being with them at such a magical place, and seeing them so happy. And then you can take them when they're older. I'm 19 and I still love Walt Disney World, more now than I ever did.

Have fun!

no way! Universal sucks! Sorry, but its true. Especially for kids your age. Quite honestly, there is nothing at Universal for 1 and 3 year olds and its not even that great for adults. Nobody can top Disney World. And think about it...Universal's 2 parks versus Disney World's 4 parks, 2 waterparks, Downtown Disney, Disney Quest, and The Wonderful World of Sports. Your kids will love Disney! I've been every year since I was 3! The Magic Kingdom probably has the most rides for your kids. Most are fairly gentle and there are some good shows there like Mickey's Philhar Magic and The Hall of Presidents. All the rides are great...that goes without saying. I'm guessing Animal Kingdom or MGM will be their second favorite park. Animal Kingdom because I thought most kids liked animals and they have a great kids section of the park called DinoLand USA. Its great. And MGM has Playhouse Disney stuff. I don't think they'll enjoy EPCOT as much because they might find it boring.
Have a Magical Trip!

You will find plenty for a 1 and 3 year old to do. Do they like characters? There will be plenty.

Universal has a wonderful Dr Seuss land. (I am 44 and I loved it!) the one year old is still a bit small, so I can't offer much help there.

On most rides (especially Disney) there are areas near the entrance to the rides called "child swap". One parent stays there with the kiddies while the other parent gets to ride the "big" ride. when finished you "swap" so the first parent stays with kids, and the other tries the ride. That way you don't have to get at the end of a long line and wait again.

Both Universal AND Disney have plenty for the little ones. You don't mention how many days you have or if you are limited by budget to one choice. If it were me, and I had to chose, I would go with Disney.

Either way, it is your decision. At that age, they will probably tire out and take naps in the carriage, so you should chose which parks YOU want to spend time and money in.

I have to agree with some of the answers here. Universal is more a big kid park. Lots of coasters and things like that, small children cannot ride most of the rides becasue of the height restriction. You could still go to Islands of Adventure and go to Seuss Land, but that is pretty much it for them at that park.

Disney is the perfect park for children your age! They can ride pretty much everything there and I am sure they know a lot of the characters. They'd have a blast. You and your kids would get more out of Disney because you can ride the rides together (unlike at Universal where the kids wouldn't be able to ride very many rides). Disney is your best bet and you get more bang for your buck for sure!!

Another option would be Sea World. Lots of shows, not so many rides, lots of animals. They would like Wet and Wild too. A water park not far at all from Universal.

I don't recommend Universal Studios for little ones. I'd wait until they are at least 7 or 8 years old. Disneyworld has many more attractions and entertainment designed for families and young kids.

Short answer, Not Much.
The 3 year old may like the Dr Seuss area.
I recommend staying in the hotels at Universal, you then wait on no lines. Some of the rides actually have child care, but check with them about that.
We stayed at Portofino, it was wonderful.

Don't go for the kids if that is their age.
I wouldn't even recommend Disney for that age group.

Come on do you really think a 1 & 3 year old will remember going to Universal Studios or Disney? It is a waste of money to take kids that young and pay as much as your going to. I would strongly advise to wait until they are older otherwise no one in your party will have a good time.
