When Robert Ford was shot by Jesse Owens (Whom they say hated guns and would have run a hundred yards from one) Ford's dying words were supposed to have been, "You can have any car as long as it's mine, although history will say they are junk" Was it the same as Admiral Half-Nelson telling Oliver Hardy that it was Kermit who shot him?

There are loads of instances where opinions vary (well keep your opinions and just give us the facts - if only it was that easy) on many historical facts and quotes. As a general rule you should treat anything involving people as highly suspicious until it is proven wrong (but hold on to it because there's a good chance we may get back to it when the correct answer is proven wrong and the proof about the former one is called into question).
Latest version is: "kiss me Hardy, not you the other one".

Have you noticed that whenever some great general or soldier dies in battle they always seem to have some big, long meaningful diatribe as their final words? Given the circumstances of war surely there must have been just one of histories great heroes who's last words were "OOOOH, SH!T!"

"Why?" It's a question that Aristotle asked Plato, Plato asked Socrates, Socrates asked Homer and Homer asked Jethro. None of them knew the answer.

The only one who knew the answer was Dayton Allen, he said, "Why not?"
