Barbara Bush, George W. Bush's mother, made the following comment just before the invasion of Iraq began: "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it's gonna happen? It's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" It's disgusting that a member of a family that has made its political power out of demanding that we "support the troops" would say such a thing. I am ashamed to see that the arrogance of the mother has been passed down to the son, who appears to have an equal disregard for American lives.

IS this what we want for our soldiers to come back to a bankrupt economy with no jobs when companies like raytheon are out of business .
This war is about jobs for real Americans. Who went to school and got an education and are productive members of our nation .It is not about the kids from the slums who would be in jail had we not given them a chance to join the military and fight in Iraq so we could increase defense spending in the private sector .
HOW dare you insult Americans by suggesting we use a product developed by Israel and not rely on our own ingenuity.
It is liberals like you who probably supported the helmet inserts Cher wanted for all the troops at 80 dollars a pop .that's over 10 million dollars and has no benefit for the drug companies who will prescribe life long pain medication for people with head traumas.DRUG companies need to earn profits too.
YOU still do not get that the war is all about money MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY .
once YOU ACCEPT THIS , IT WILL NOT BE HARD TO SEE WHY THIS DEFENSE SYSTEM IS NOT ADOPTED .
Why recruiting poor Americans is the method preferred for this war and why defense contractors are switching over to small budget weapons systems with per unit price tags under a million bucs . THIS employee's hundreds more workers in smaller short term projects that keep growing till they must split and shift to smaller programs again .
We focused on billion dollar planes and weapons that are no good for inner city battles .HUGE war ships that have no equal in the world patrol the sea's with out opposition today . We have to rethink the profit structure and weapons systems and raytheon is getting on the stick finally and going to provide us with an American made anti rpg system not Israel .

I take exception with your incorrect statement of how the Army feels about its soldiers. There are budgets to work with and a congress that has to vote on that budget. Everything the military does needs to be checked out. You don't go spending a billion dollars before the due diligence has been done. And another thing, we are damn lucky to have the equipment we have. Clinton raped the hell of our military and most democrats would prefer the military not even exist. So take your opinion and put it to some good use and take it out with the rest of the trash.

As we know, Clinton showered our military with upgrades, payhikes, and better health insurance and spousal support.

Get a grip. Yes, it is disgusting, but it is par for the course from our un-leadership from both isles.

Yes it is disgusting.

Clinton gave them payhikes and better benefits.

Cheney cuts military benefits.

We might have already had them if we were not still trying to rebuild the military from what Clinton did to it.
