i would start lamont jordan because he should get touches near the goal line since he is a big back. i would avoid most every 49er offensive player

Both of these guys have tough matchups.
Arizona has an underrated run defense.
LaMont struggled against the Chargers last year, gaining only 91 yards, but did score twice. However, San Diego was able to keep their defense off the field with Brees picking apart defenses. Rivers is going to be tested a lot, and this game will be closer than most suspect.
I give the edge to LaMont mainly because he catches the ball a lot (70 catches last year, best in the NFL for RBs). I think he'll have 100 combined yards, and hit "pay dirt" once.
Gore should have slightly less than that...

I think you have to go with the experience of Lamont Jordan. Arizona looks to have a better defense this year, so Gore might not score at all, especially playing for the Niners. Jordan should get carries and receptions from Brooks.

Don't forget that Jordan can catch. He's also on a better team with better offensive weapons that will afford him more red zone opportunities. Gore may or may not emerge as a quality back for San Francisco this year, but he didn't exactly light it up in 2005 and seemed to benefit by Barlow's inconsistency more than his own talent.
Stick with Jordan over Gore, and focus on playing the best back unless the matchup is drastically uneven. No matter who you choose, consider that the more you change your mind and try to "time" your starts, the more you'll be putting up lower numbers while trying to match the previous week's production with next week's predictions.

Jordan, easily. He showed last year that he's the centerpiece of his offense, and he's also a good pass catcher - so he'll likely keep getting stats even if the Raiders fall behind.
Gore has talent, but he's on a sucky team (well, the Raiders suck too, but the 49ers are the worst team in the league right now). He also doesn't have Jordan's proven level of productivity. If the 49ers fall behind early, there's a real risk that they abandon the running game.

Going against the odds, I'd say Gore. Arizona's run D isn't as strong as the Chargers.
Jordan is probably the safer bet though.

Frank Gore no doubt. Hes going to be one of the 1200 yard rushers this year and arizona has no defense. Oakland maybe one of the worst teams in the league even though the niners aint much better but the niners have a better offensive line. And playing a weaker team on defense.

your best bet will for sure be Jordan. The Cardinals are a much better team this year (so everyone says), and Gore is unproven at the moment. Give him a few weeks to see what he can do.

the only offensive line that i hate more than oakland's is SF.( I'm a raiders fan) Gore is a good runner with a very bad offensive line. Jordan is a much safer pick this week.
