An avatar is the cartoon creation by Yahoo! where you choose a face, hairstyle, etc. Why do so many people think an avatar is referring to your profile photo? And while I'm ranting, what's with people spelling the word DOES as DOSE? Does that drive you crazy as well? Or for the morons.. Dose that drive you crazy?

Yes, the "dose" and "does" is always funny, and I also love it when someone spells "loser" with two o's... "looser"...

There so many meaning of avatar not only "cartoon creation by Yahoo". And, Yahoo gives us a chance what to put in it, its either the avatar of yahoo, the picture in your 360 or the gray smiley face, I don't see any problem in that. If you don't like people who can't spell or what ever, ignore them and get over it.

I completely agree. If the avatars did match are profile, there are thousands of people that look just like me. When I see word does spelled dose it makes me think of the number two in Spanish. UNO DOSE......

I have no clue why people can't spell things correctly. Sometimes it's funny to see how people spell certain words but other times it is just plain annoying. What really annoys me is when people ask if people think their avatar is cute. I mean, come on, it's a cartoon picture. It's weird to think that people find these characters cute, sexy, or whatever.

The avatar is selective choice.
The spelling is as you say...crazy, moronic. and I have serious doubts about our whole educational system. It is so aggravating trying to figure out this "pig english"
Foreigners do better at learning our language...they may have the tenses backwards but their spelling is far superior....
