don't you hate it when they keep releasing different versions?

It's ridiculous, I already have the extended versions so I'm set- no reason for me to part with my hard-earned $$ just to see more special features crap retroactively thrown in. I'm more interested in the film...

The extended versions were great. You got almost a full hour extra of each movie and all the bonus stuff. I really don't know why they're getting re-released again so soon, and what new things are avail on them. Peter Jackson's definitely doing a George Lucas on everyone.

Perhaps they wouldn't need to try and reap all they can out of the series if millions of people didn't illegally download everything.

Peter Jackson puts his heart and soul into his movies and I am sure he actually doesn't have too much to do with releasing new versions.

I know they plan to put out the hobbit but is the last one I heard about. I didn't even see the second or third movie and I only saw the parts with Liv Tyler in them so I know nothing.... there I said it.

Well, since the only diff is some of the features, I'm just going to rent it and watch the features and bring it back since I already have the movies.

Like all other "special editions" they will keep releassing them until they stop making money. The moral of the story is, don't buy what essentially you already have. Buy something new instead.
