That is such a tough moral question.
Of course we SHOULD be honorable and not act as they did... arrogant and say 'we told you so'.
But geez... wouldn't that be hard NOT to do... lol
Seriously, I do hope that we maintain our integrity. Democratic integrity is why I became a democrat in 2000. I was a republican until 1992 but after the Iran/Contra and World Bank scandals, I got a bad taste in my mouth about republican integrity.
The 90s attack on Clinton only reassured this although I voted for Perot twice and not Clinton... mistake.
I went completely democrat in 2000 because of that lame attempt to smear him when all the charges by K. Star had to be dropped... how many millions later.

Let's get down to business and fix the mess in Iraq. We can provide universal health care and raise the minimum wage. It's time to find clean alternative fuels, become energy independent, and start reversing global warming. We will go back to protecting our National Parks, National Forests, wilderness areas and other National treasures that ALL American citizens are shareholders in. We must reverse the deficit by wise spending and making the rich and big business pay their fair share of taxes.
We should focus on the positive and what we can accomplish. Let's not play the blame game. We can rise above the level of the opposition by letting the past lie. We don't have to validate ourselves by taking cheap shots at those we have defeated ad infinitum. If we try to replace DeLay and company with another set of corrupt hammers we will repeat our mistakes that led to the Republican victory in '94 and our victory in '06.

Maybe you should go back to before 1994, and find out how the Democrats ran things then, in order to figure out why the Republicans have run them the way they have. After all, the Democrats had a House majority from 1954 to 1994; I suspect you'll see the seeds of everything since 1994 in that time period.
Or have you forgotten Tip O'Neill and Wright and others resigning due to corruption? The Democrats starting the Vietnam War? Republicans locked out of committee meetings?
On the other hand, as a former history teacher, I have to say our democratic republic is strongest when power switches back and forth between the parties, since no party has a pipeline to wisdom, truth, or good ideas, and it's always good for them to be reminded that they can be voted out of office.

I hope you treat the terrorists more harshly than the Republicans have. Oh I'm sorry you think Republicans ARE the opposition. Actually they aren't. They just disagree with you on some things.
If Democrats RE-take control of government (You had it for forty years) remember this. It wasn't Republicans that took you out of power and it won't be Democrats that put you back in. It's the independant voter that controls who's in. And right now it's estimated there are more independants (40%)than Republicans (30%)OR Democrats(30%). So if you win don't get too cocky. We did not like where you were going and what you were doing and WE took you out. IF we put you back in we can take you back out.

Well.....you sound quite typical of your party. "If" your party takes over, please don't change a thing for us. Stay predictable, brash, and above all don't stop lying. It's actually quite entertaining watching Nancy P., Maxine Waters, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, your Primal Screaming DNC Leader, Al Gore and lets not forget John Kerry, make fools of themselves on a daily basis. Hillary doesn't even have to work at looking foolish, so keep it up it's all good for a laugh. My life will go on untouched by the dems.

We should Govern... if we are able to gain control of the house and senate.
And if that means impeachment of this president so be it!
This Nation has many problems and the next Congress and Senate needs to take a very serious look at what our foreign and domestic policy's have done to this country ..and then do something about it!!!

Considering how well you treated the GOP for the almost interrupted 40 years you held the House and Senate, this seems to be your comeuppance. Maybe someone should end the bitterness but I suspect they will just keep treating each other worse every time the majority shifts.

I would love to hear one example of how things will be different.
The Democrats and Republicans are indentical. They are all about supporting their corporate sponsors and special interest groups and don't care about the constituents. The politicians should be forced to wear patches identifying their corporate and other major sponsors, like NASCAR drivers do.

The opposition will always whine and complain. When the tables turn, the leaders who are now the opposition will whine and complain. Republicans call anyone else a coward/traitor/terrorist. If they don't get office, they then will be callled cowards/traitors/terrorists. Simple as that.
Vote for The American Progression Party!!!!!

I would hope that they would try to solve a few problems instead of the incessant whineing that has been coming out of Kerry and Gore.
This Country has REAL issues, but NEITHER party wants to solve or even talk about them.
Vote! for a 3rd. party!
