Daylight savings time and Summer Vacations were created to allow more farming time and for kids to help on the farms. Since most people now aren't farmers shouldn't things be changed?

I hate Daylight Savings Time, and don't see any need to keep going with it every year.
If some businesses want to, they can have "Summer Hours", and open and close at different times in the summer.
Schools would be better used by being closed in August, December, and April, and open the other 9 months.
It would help parents, who have trouble with childcare for 3 months at once, and school buildings wouldn't sit empty all summer.

Well I don't think that is the only reason that the school year is set like that. Besides, Agriculture, is still big in many states even though you may not realize it. It is the #1 industry in Ohio and is very high in California and New York as well. Also the school year time period also works for many states because then children get a break in the summer when they would not really want to be at school anyways because of the beautiful weather.

You like having food in your grocery store don't you? Farming is still as important now as it has ever been.
