It's a yale lock. Can I just purchase a new barrel or do I have to replace the whole thing .I'm not locked out I just cant lock it when I go out. Has anyone got any other solutions?

You can just purchase a new barrel.
If you decide to get quotes for locksmiths, make sure they quote you for the labour too - there are a lot of dodgy ones out there.

You can get a new key made and match the barrell to fit your new key. Any hardware store can do this for you.

it will probably be cheaper to buy another lock then to hire a lock smith

call a lock smith, he should be able to fit you a new key
