Some of the senior centers and schools use the pictures for projects. I agreed cards are too expensive today to be thrown away. I send the fronts to school and the inside I keep to pick the dust up when I sweep.

well, I write the current address in all mine when I receive them and then next year when doing cards, I send a card to everyone who sent to me and then some. It just makes for a more organized and happy christmas. Then I throw the old ones away after I use the addresses. Then I do the same agian with the ones I recieve that year. It just takes the aggravation out of it.

my husband wants me to throw my cards away but i feel that if someone found the time to send me a card then i was on their minds and that makes me feel good so i don't throw them away either what i did was get a photo album and put the christmas cards in them, or get a box and put them in like a christmas decorative box and put them up with your christmas things at the holidays you can read them when ever u want to bring back warm memories of those people

Save them until you write your cards for the following Christmas. Make sure you send a card to everyone who sent you a card the year before. After you've saved them for a year, you probably won't mind throwing them out or recycling them somehow.

I scrap book mine. Especially ones from close family members that live far away. But if you get tons and tons of cards from people you don't really know (like your dentist) feel free to throw those away, or keep the pretty ones to use on decorations of your other scrap pages.

You could get your kids together and use the old ones to make Christmas ornaments. The embossed and foil ones are especially good for this.

Why do you feel bad throwing them away, what do you think they do with your cards?

The only one's I keep are from my family and best friends, then I put them in a scrap book w/a picture of us doing something together during the holidays.

From relatives or close friends, put them in a box in a closet. Others, just throw away after Christmas

Some charities ask for your used Christmas cards so they can recycle them. I agree though, I typically save mine for a few years before Im forced to through them out because of lack of space, I feel bad too.

Tear off the front of the pretty cards and use them for tags on larger packages the following year. Then, recycle the other half. It's a great money saver!
