I use strands of fake silk ivy and the like that I bought from walmart for less then a dollar each. They were meant for floral house decorations but caused my fish no harm and look better then plastic ones (plus, they won't tear fins).

I'm not sure about the ones at Wal-mart because I've never bought any there. Most plastic plants range from about $1-$10 each depending on size. I know that Petcetera's plants are way overpriced, the averaged sized ones were about 10 bucks each, where as the biggest plant in my tank cost $2 from PetSmart.
Really, all I can tell you is to go to Wal-mart yourself and check their prices. I would say to not pay over $10 for a plant and even that is pretty expensive.

Wal-Mart by me sells small plants for a $1.19 (4" - 6") and larger ones for 4.99 (8" - 10"). You can make your own by going into the Craft section (or Craft store) and buying plastic plants. You can make you own designs. Use 100% Silicon to attach your plants to a piece of slate or rock. this will keep the plant at the bottom of the tank. For fish shows I have made a rock ledge back ground with slate and rocks using plastic plants to form moss on the ledges. Test the plants in water for a few days to check that the water does not change color (I have never had this problem)dye of the Wash the plants with w

I were given breeding mats at JoAnne / Michaels a pair weeks in the past... They were 4x4x4 grass and 4x4x2 flowers $2.50 at 50% off sale. proper for tanks with guppies. I actually were given plastic flowers there yet they did not workout consultation too properly. as well to flowers... you'll get straightforward terra-cotta pots (4") and terra-cotta plates (7") from those shops for decrease than a dollar a peice. they're proper for making caves once you tip them on their part, stack them, or in part submerge them contained in the gravel. you may take a hammer or a screwdriver & bust out the bottom to make a touch tunnel. I dunno in the adventure that they are nationwide, yet each so often Gabriel Brothers also receives fish stuff in. I were given a huge bottle of Krill there once. that they had decorations also. Ollies might want to be similar.

Don't know, but why fake plants? They can damage your fish and don't look nice.Real plants are cheap enough, ask your local pet shop for something in your price range. One tip I was given by someone who keeps fish......use an inner leaf from a lettuce, drop it in the tank and the fish love it.It also cures their constipation !

The fake plants for aquariums ARE probably pretty cheap. Why don't you go there and find out?

Way too expensive for a white trash store like Wal-Mart. Just buy them from your LFS.

They cost too much, in my opinion. Little ones go for over $2, and the price goes up to about $30.
