While the dems got up one at a time to argue for a no confidence vote on Donald Rumsfeld, John Kerry said it wasn't right for old men to send yopung boys into battle. He's an 'old man' so why doesn't he volunteer to take some young guys place in Iraq?!?!?!
What an idiotic thing to say and it has shades of age discrimination.

Wasn't this the guy that was for the war before he was against the war after he was for the war?

Same guy that questioned Bush's military record...that Bush released...and yet refused and was offended when asked to release his?

Same guy that stabbed the backs of his brothers in arms while they were still dying in 'nam and he was here acting like a filthy hippie decrying their efforts?

OOOHHHHHH, THAT guy......Anything he says offends me.

Old men have always sent young men into war. And it's always wrong to send young men and women off to die for a lie, no matter how plausible the lie might seem at the time. There's no political party to blame for it - it's done by both parties, whoever happens to be instigating the war. (Let's face it, most of the recent "wars" we have been involved in were either instigated by us or were us sticking our noses in somewhere.) People, I'm sure, would be happy to join up and defend their country if they felt it was being directly threatened, like in WW2. The WTC was a one-off - in 5 years, nothing else has happened. Yet the terror talk contintues, and US soldiers keep dying thousands of miles from home. So, no, I don't find what Kerry said idiotic or offensive at all. He went and performed his duties in Vietnam, which is more than my own father did. I may not always agree with his brand of politics although I'm a Democrat, but I do agree with this.

no. he was absolutely right to say what he felt. and givne the context that kerry did his time and served his country, instead of getting 5 deferments or flying around alabama for a while, he certainly has the moral high ground here. rumsfeld was an instructor in the reserves, he never had to actually go and fight, so kerry has a right to say what he said. and how is that age discrimination? WTF? really whether kerry is right or not on a philosophical level is neither here nor there, but i'm not really offended by much in government anymore, they're all so pathetic and greedy

What is wrong with you? Kerry served and was wounded in Viet Nam. Bush went AWOL from the National Guard instead of going to Viet Nam, and Rumsfeld, Cheney and many other Repub warmongers dodged the draft.

Yes, Senator Kerry is a decorated American War hero, whom President Bush has stated that he admires Senator Kerry's military record.

Senator Kerry risked his life to save his men.

I did not hear Kerry's exact remarks yesterday, and knowing how most conservatives will twist anything into hateful remarks against our veterans, I will look it up before giving an answer, but Senator Kerry is a battle hardened veteran, who deserves more respect that you are showing here.

IF the dummycrats were to stupid to figure out the war was not about wmds or saddams brutality that had been going on for 20 years or terrorists who attacked america on 9-11 when they voted for operation Iraq .THEN what makes america think these same idiots belong back in office or in charge of the white house .

I thought we got rid of Kerry a long time ago. Is he still around? Just kidding, I didn't here the comment, however I am not surprised. If he did indeed say that it only goes to show his inability to find anything concrete to say.

I didn't hear Mr. Flip Flops remarks yesterday but his very existence offends me. There may be an element of truth to what he says but he needs to think carefully before opening his big mouth and spewing further controversial propoganda. It's difficult enough of a situation for our troops without Kerry deluding himself into thinking that he's speaking in their behalf.

Anything that John Kerry says is offensive.
However, I am one of the veterans who would return in a heartbeat. The Navy has turned me down for the last 3 years in a row...something about 'too old'...dam_mit :(
