Yes they do, no problem.

DSs, like GBAs before them, are completely universal.

(Edited - some people don't seem to know what they're talking about! Someone mentioned the TV won't work! What TV?! It's a DS! The thing is, NTSC and PAL are television standards that are simply irrelevant when you're talking about a handheld console because they have LCD screens. The only way to stop games from regions different to that of the console from playing is by software checking, and the DS has no such checks)

Yes they can. The Nintendo DS system is Region Free. All systems launched, whether in Japan or the UK, are the same system. This is the same for the game cartridges (of course, they come in different languages but the region system is the same). So this means any DS game with work with and DS system.

If your nintendo DS is a UK PAL machine then NO it won't play NTSC games.
The reason companies created different formats (NTSC/ PAL/ JAP etc) is to stop imports in the black market!

Its not advised- but if you do correctly chip your DS then yes you will be able to play other formats!

Enjoy!

100% no problem as, being a handheld and not dependent on connection to a monitor, regional broadcast restrictions don't apply. Game On!
