I am not making fun of anyone for enjoying celeb gossip. I enjoy it on occasion too. It just seems that sometimes it's out of control. They're just people too, why does everyone care so much? For example, Suri the baby. Who cares? I could care less if I ever saw that baby.

I'm not sure! But it's all a little over the top with me. I'm happy when a couple has a healthy baby- but all this loop-la is silly- there is so much going on in the world today, and there are babies born everyday that are just as beautiful, so I don't get it???

I can't speak for other people, but personally, I enjoy at times to hear certain gossips about certain people, because many of them are paid millions of dollars, but they do some of the stupidest stuff... All the while, you have actual intelligent people who go through school for years and years, spend tons of money and efforts for getting a decent job, and are still paid less than celebrities in the end... How ironic.

If I was to be rich, then I'd spend time discovering things, getting knowledge and try to make a difference in the world... not get into scientiology or make a whore of myself, for example... it's very sad.

So, I guess it's a form of entertainment for me to get a chance to laugh at those people for doing what they do, as cruel as it may sound.

Believe it or not, most Americans could care less about celebrities! It's just that most of the major celebrities come from the USA, everyone comes here to be FAMOUS. And I MEAN EVERYONE. It's a very sad revolving door, stars to stay on top need the public to do so, and the us plain folk sometimes need to get out of our own lives to better appreciate it. The fact you asked this questions says alot!!!

Well, people wanted to see Shiloh since a star couple of Brad and Angelina, and what she looked like. The same for Suri. She's a star baby-and cute. People are fascinated on their lives outside the camera, like getting into trouble with the law like Paris Hilton, and marriage, kids, etc. It's all part of being famous.

They're the most popular. Don't people, back in your school, talk about the most popular people the most? A lot of people become attached to the actors in movies and the artistis in music, they feel like they know them and they hold a special relationship in a way. It's a form of marketing, but it's authentic on a level as well for they wouldn't have their wealth without them. So, they're willing to pay for information to stay updated on the current events with their favorite icons. Sometimes this information is free.

what's the world's obsession with this question? i have answered this question time and again...most people dream(whether they admit it or not!) of becoming famous and having everyone interested in their choices and lives in general...there are some people though that are just interested in the way a few celebrities live or dress or who they are with because they look up to that certain celeb...all together i think that celebrities enjoy the attention because it helps their career, but with the good always come the bad...PAPPARAZZI!!! EEK! well that's the best I can come up with...♥

I don't know either but it makes those people rich and us just dumb LOL I dont even know the people on the covers any more. I just don't pay in any attention and I am tired of it. They always come up charged with drugs and alcohol anyway.Then everyone forgives and goes and watches their next 40 million dollar movie

I really don't know what the obsession is, but i do speculate however that our society got this obsession really with the airing of the oj chase and of the trial.

I know why.

Its very easy; you see we live in a very large populated area, and we all have our (families,friends,etc)... that WE know.

NOW----when you and I go to the store,school,mall, and we meet a total stranger and we say "oh, did you see baby Sari's photos' that stranger is like yes, omg, I did.

NOW----what it is; its a commonality factor; that that stranger doesn't know us/and our families, nor do we know theirs;

BUT---its the cool fact that we Most, of us, know celebrities....

Hope that helps you....
