I mean as far as I know there're different types of mold. They're all nasty but some you can get rid of relatively easy just wiping with bleach but others are very deadly and require special treatment. So how do I determine if the one we got in our house is in fact that one? Is it the way it looks or where do we get professional help?

Black mold is very dangerous to human health, and can be cleaned with bleach and warm soapy water. There is websites you can research on mold with pictures to determine what type you have.

Black mold can get into your lungs, and it won't be good! Use a mask when cleaning that stuff, you can call an inspector to come out to determine if you have mold, even a reputable carpenter/builder can tell you that one.

Any type of mold is bad for people it could cause allergies in anyone. However BLACK MOLD IS THE MOST DANGEROUS.
