She talked about this even long before the song came out...

She has said that when she rehearses with her band, her hips tell her whether or not a song sounds good - i.e., if she's not dancing, it's not a good thing! So she says that to her band - "My hips don't lie, they tell me the truth!" to tell them if something is right (or not right) about what they're doing.

In the song "Hips Don't Lie," she's talking about a man in a club... basically she's saying that she can tell they have great chemistry. She can feel it in her hips because he makes her want to "dance." It makes sense if you look at the lyrics with this in mind:

Oh baby, when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise, and keep on
Reading the signs of my body

I'm on tonight
You see, my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel it's right
So come on, let's go, real slow
Can't you see baby, asi es perfecto!

Her body is real not fake her hips don't lie. Her dance moves are all hers she owns the dance floor. Men should fall at her feet every time she shakes her skinny butt. She teaches over grown women how to catch men in the video work out "hips dont lie".

just a bunch of people having fun, dancing around feeling eachother up..
just like a saturday night out really...

One theory is that she's ready to have babies...and as such her hips are wide enough to give birth..

AND IT'S NO LIE...unlike all the other ladies in that club who pad their hips for all the broody young fellas to see.. ;-)

It's about dancing. I don't think there's any deeper message than that. I'm not quite sure what she means by 'hips don't lie' though. Does she mean that when her hips move she's dancing, and she doesn't elt her hips move without actually dancing as that would be lying?

i think the concept is the way she wiggles her hips is showing sexyness
if shes singing hips don't lie then she is making a statement that she feels and looks sexy and shes ready for some loving

In one of her other "tunes" she was banging on about her boobs being smaller than mountains or something.

The woman is obviously completely mad!! with a voice like scraping metal down a blackboard.

Sorry Shakira fans!! (just my opinion)

I think that it is fairly self explanatory really. What maybe you should be asking is how many people out there care!
