I'd like to tell my 3 years old niece about the story of Snow White in plane, short and simple English words. Would someone please help?

Here's mine version which based from http://www.kidsfreesouls.com/snowtale.htm

Once upon a time, there is a little princess named Snow White. Her skin is as white as snow. The Bad Queen has a magic mirror. She asks, "who is the most beautiful person in the world." The mirror says, "Snow White." The Bad Queen gets mad and gives her an apple. Snow White eats the apple and falls into sleep. One day, the prince sees her and kisses her lip. Magically, she wakes up and they live happily ever after.

I know, I write terrible, plus it's all in present tense. That's ok. It's better for her to understand. :)

Once upon a time, there was a little princess named Snow White. Snow white was a beautiful little girl who had skin as white as snow. Snow White was a kind and gentle girl who loved all the animals of the forrest and was kind to everyone she met. The Bad Queen was angry at Snow White because the bad queen wanted to be the most beautiful person in the whole kingdom.

One day, the bad queen asked her magic mirror "Who is the most beautiful person in the WHOLE kingdom?". The mirror told her "Of course, Snow White is the most beautiful person in the whole kingdom." The Bad Queen got very angry at her magic mirror, and she decided that she would put Snow White to sleep with a magic apple.

The Bad Queen mixed up her sleeping potion and dipped the apple in to the pot. Then she brought the apple to Snow White.
Even though her parents told Snow White never to eat something that a stranger gives to her, Snow White took a bite of the apple, and fell into a deep sleep.

Snow White slept for a long time until one day a prince from another kingdom came in search of her. This prince had heard that there was a beautiful princess who had been asleep for many years. The prince finds Snow White asleep, and when he kisses her, she magically wakes up. Then the prince takes Snow White back to his castle, and they live happily every after.

edit: what you want to do is thread in moral tales into this story. That way you can go "Remember what happened when Snow White ate the apple? Don't take anything from strangers!"

It is also a morality play about jealousy (which could be pumped up as she gets older) and obviously if you play up Snow White as kind as well as beautiful, a little girl is going to want to emulate that behavior. Make sure your characters embody the virtues you wish to impart except for specific mistakes (taking the apple, being jealous, etc) then she can see the consequences of going against what her parents tell her.

The gist of the story is that women are jealous of other women who are more pretty. If you are really pretty you may be forced to hide from bitter uglier women by living with 7 midgets. Men are easily categorized by women e.g. Sleepy/Lazy, Grumpy, Dopey etc. If you get the opportunity, always marry the Doc especially if he owns a gem mine. If a Prince is available thats a good option too - since all that whistling can be annoying.

This is not an age appropriate story for a 3 year old. Would be better to stick with elmo and barney

Your story is lovely! I much prefer it to the standard version, for everybody.

It's wonderful that you want to help your little one understand things. More parents should do that. We would have happy, well-adjusted and productive people growing up in the world.
