i have heard that before. I know it is not safe for you or the baby, so if your Dr wants to start your labor then shout for joy. YOU are 39 weeks. That is average. You might go into labor on your own very soon. Congratulations.

i wasn't induced b/c of high blood pressure, but i was high risk, and they just hook you up to petossin and let your labor start, and then hook you up to monitors that help keep track of your blood pressure. If they feel they need to, they'll give you some meds to regulate your blood pressure through an IV. It's not scary, and doctors and nurses are very competent. If they feel they need help they jsut bring in extra tech's or aides. It's going to be okay, and look at it this way, you'll get to see your baby early.

My friend did. We were pregnant together, I had low blood pressure and she had high. They induced her @ 38 weeks pregnant. Its the same thing as anyone else being induced with the use of pitocin and monitoring everything, etc.

There is nothing to be scared of. Just relax, perhaps your're just scared and stressed and that is the reason your bloog pressure is high also.....do you possibly have gestational diabetes?

Just be sure to go to that appt. and get check and schedule a date for you to be induced.

Goodluck and Congratulations!

anything after 38 weeks is considered full term. You and the baby should be fine. My wife blood pressure went high after she started putting on the baby wieght (3rd trimester). It is a cause for concern because you don't want you B/P getting too high and putting you in a health risk.

I was induced at 39 weeks, nothing to be scared of, just giving your body a push in the right direction. Good luck, congrats

THERE IS NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF. THE DOCTOR IS MAKING SURE THE BABY IS OKAY. YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE CAN NOT STAY UP HIGH WITHOUT AFFECTING THE BABY. THEY DO NOT LIKE GIVING MEDS WHILE YOU ARE PREGNANT. SO INDUCING YOUR LABOR WILL BE THE BEST THING. IF YOUR PRESSURE GOES UP HIGHER THEN THEY WILL DO AN EMERGENCY C-SECTION. THEN THEY CAN GIVE YOU MEDS TO BRING YOUR PRESSURE BACK TO NORMAL.

Pregnancy induced high blood pressure is a symptom of Preeclampsia . It can have severe consequences for you and the baby (including fetal morbidity). If you have it, they will definitely induce labor. Please talk to you OB!!!

If they induce you they'll probably break your water with what looks like a crochet needle..I don't believe it hurts any..and they'll probably put you on Pitocin to help you contract stronger! My sister was induced everything seemed to go good!
