i am 371/2 weeks prego and saw my dr this morning,i had an internal exam,and after the exam i went to the bathroom and noticed pink on the tissue.is this the mucus plug or just from the internal exam?

That is probably just from the exam. I just delivered 2 weeks ago. I lost my mucus plug 2 days before I went into labor. When you loose the plug you will know definately what it was. It is really thick and slimy. Mine was more green than red, kinda brownish. Some ladies do loose the plug earlier in the pregnancy, and it does grow back. My cousin lost hers 3 times during her pregnancy. So when you do loose it, it doesn't automatically mean you will begin having contractions and go into labor. Hope this helps a little.

prob from the exam. If your plug came out you would know. Your contractions would start to get strong, and your water would probably break. The mucus plug is normally a clear or yellow mucus color(hence the name).

Most likely just from the exam, but if it continues for any length of time you should call your doctor. You should be able to call and speak at least to his nurse anytime you have a concern and you're wondering if you should go in.

Its just from the exam. It happens and you're OK as long as its just little spotting. If it is like a period then you have somethng to visit your doctor for asap. Just be careful what you're doing and monitor whats goin gon down below.

This is part of your mucous plug. I had this happen to me when I was 38 weeks with my third pregnancy. My exam was on a Friday and it gradually happened until I finally went into labor on Monday. This happened to be the worst labor and longest labor of all of my pregnancies.

Probably just from the exam...the cervix is alot more sensitive during pregnancy

this could be spotting i dont want to worry you but go to your doctor incase its something serious.good luck.You'll be fine. Good luck with baby!!
