You need to go to the pet store. They have blocks there that the hamster can gnaw on to fix this problem. If you can't find it, ask, they will help you out.

Im not sure about a hamster, but I keep my rabbits teeth trimmed by giving her unlimited quantities of timothy hay, which is fairly cheap at petsmart. Other than that, you would have to take your hamster to a vet to have it done.

in the pet stores, there are special scissors that you can buy to trim the hamster's teeth, but i think you should do that only as a last resort. if your hamster refuses to chew on plain, colored blocks of wood (like mine), then you could try buying fruit-flavored blocks of wood so that your hamster would be more willing to chew on it.

I have a chinchilla and they have to have their teeth short too. BUT what you do is give them wooden blocks to chew on! They will file them all by their selves! Not really something YOU can help them with! There are plenty of toys out there for them to chew on. Hampsters teeth are gonna be long but they will keep growing, they need something to chew on to control the growth. Get wood blocks or sticks, they sell them at any pet store or any place that sells pet toys, any hampser toy should be fine.

If they are very long just having him chew on things won't be good enough, you will need to take him to a vet and have it done, its fairly easy and shouldn't cost much. After they are trimmed you should then start giving him the chewies to help keep them shorter.

Go to any pet store and they have wooden blocks that hamsters can chew on. Ask the sales person to assist you in chosing the correct 'chew toy'.

If you let it chomp into something really hard, let's say a rock, it's teeth will be trimmed for good.
