WD = water displacement
40 = 40th attempt
Someone once told me it was actually the 40th page in the chap's laboratory notebook :-)

All you need to keep a house in working order is WD-40 and duct tape. If it isn't moving and should be, then use WD-40. If it is moving and shouldn't be, then use duct tape!
