When I click the history tab it shows all the sites I've been to. I was just wondering if it is possible to prevent them from having the option of being deleted when you right click it. Like some option button I can turn on and off. I need to see what sites people are getting on, on my computer (without them deleting their history), but I don't want to block those sites. (For an experiment)

The answer to the question that is it possible to dont let them being deleted is no.
But still if someone hay deleted all your history etc, you can still view it.
When you Click on Internet Options > Settings > View files
When the temporary internet folder appear fress F3 (search) and in the search field type *.* (asterik dot asteik) and press enter. When the search completes you can see all the files and cookies that have been used during the previous sessions.
And in this way you can still know what was going on your computer.

Good answer. I haven't tested it, but since that disables the interface allowing a person to click the Clear History button, I'm thinking they could still use a 3rd party "privacy" app to clear it. I assume this is for an employee and/or child, and most people just click the Clear button.

In case that doesn't work, you should be able to set permissions for the registry key that stores the typed addresses. If you goto the START button, type in regedit and click OK. Browse down to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs, right click it and click properties. From there you can set which users have access to make changes.

One side note: The "history" is only the addresses that were typed in. If they do a search in Yahoo! and click links from there, those will not show up in History. Those pages WILL save cookies however. So the same last answer could be used to disable the Delete Cookies button.

you need to get into the group policy editor. Go to start, run, type in gpedit.msc and then it will open up the group policy editor. Go under the user configuration and double click Administrative templates, double click, then Windows components, double click, then internet explorer and double click. There is one option that says "disable changing history settings" Right click on that, then click properties, then click the circle that says enable, then click apply. Then close out. That should do it.
