What kind of guys do you go for? I'm finding a lot of my gay mates tend to go for the same thing, either hairy fit builder types or just hairy types. I've not met that many that go for the rest, is this a general thing?

I'll add this bit on the end... What I mean is, is there a lot of gay guys that go for this type, seems a type that's quite commonly liked.

At a superficial level, I can be initially attracted to a good looking muscular rugby type of man, however, does not last long. I am ultimately attracted to men of personality and sensitivity. Perhaps that also answers my question of why am I still looking!

Personally, I don't like hairy guys. I know a few gay guys that do, but I do not. I find it is quite the opposite here where I live. It seems all the gay guys here mostly prefer nonhairy guys in general. As for the exact type (fit builder, swimmer build, cowboy, etc) that definately varies a lot here.

Someone 35 and up. Usually they are hairy and have facial hair. Don't really have a preference any more but I like men who are hairy. Just someone that is set up in life and they know what they want. I don't need any high school drama so, I tend to date people older than me. I am 26 and am with someone 19 years my senior. Might be sick but, it's my own doing! I do go for this type mostly but, don't really mind the smoothies. The smoothies better be physically attractive and have an awesome personality. The hairy men can get by with almost anything!

Types...physically, I tend to go for shorter than myself (6'1") and stocky. I guess you could say I like bears, because I am very much attracted to body hair. Love it! Don't ask me why 'coz I don't know...I just always have, ever since I was 14 years old (I'm 30 now).
Some of my fetishes include: having a barrel chest, having very large hands - not piano-playing fingers like mine, large moustaches, having a round nose, shaved/bald men.
My husband is very hairy - everywhere - and it's wonderfully soft and nice to cuddle up to every night.
MOST OF ALL - though - is the personality. There has to be laughter and optimism and a sense of fun. Without the personality, the body is nothing to me.

I tend to go after those that make me laugh and smile. Yeah looks help, but each many is different and bueaty can be found in so many shapes and sizes, furry or smooth, slender or big muscles. The fact that you see so many going for a specific type just means you have noticed so many are stuck on looks alone. You have a dream image you wish to fulfill. They wrong image. This is thier problem, and you should go fall in love with who you want to.

Age to me is not important. Looks do score high. I look for guys who are lean to a little over weight. I am not into real hairy guys, but they are not left out. There are groups that like no one else except for guys their own age, weight and physical features. And there are those that hook up with any other guy. They are out there. Just keep looking. He will walk into your path one of these days. Good luck.

Men come in so many beautiful shapes, sizes, colors and hirsuteness. I can get just as worked up over a slender guy, smooth guy as I can a hairy, muscular one. There are a number of qualities that go into the mix, I can't be so narrow minded as to exclude people based on these factors because they may have other qualities that just blow you away!
I'm married, but I can still look! ;-)

Seriously you cannot generalise about what type of man a gay guy fancies, some only like Asians, some only like blacks some will do anything male. some only like geriatrics and some won't look at you if you are over 25, fat , thin blond dark hairy smooth taste runs the gamut
What type do you go for?
I like the 1970s Castro Clone look but with shorter hair. A moustache really turns me on

There does seem to be an increase in the number of guys who enjoy the "bear" men out there but I think it all stems from the areas you frequent more than an actual rise in preference.

Well, I usually go for men who have some sort of build to them. I don't necessarliy mean bodybuilders, but that there is something to grab on to. This is extremely ironic since my present boyfriend of 8 months is as skinny as they come. But I guess that goes to show that physical qualities are not a high priority for me. I love Ruben because he is funny, smart....and okay, okay...hot.
