I have noticed lately that my baby will scream when she is sleeping. she doesn't open her eyes but just screams really load one time then is back to sleep. Is she having a bad dream this young? I'm going to ask her doctor but i'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation?

It sounds like she is having night terrors that is what they call nightmares for children. My bro. had that problem from the age of 6 to 18 months and it was a nightmare for my mom but it will pass.

My son did that starting at about 2 weeks old. For him it was the start of night terrors. Probably not the case here (that's not as common for girls) But when you talk to her dr get some info on it so you can be on the lookout for it.

it could just be a bad dream. dont worry about it. if she wakes up, pick her up and hold her and comfort her back to sleep. it could also be gas, my son did that alot when he was a small baby. talk to the doctor about mylicon drops. their drops for babys who have gas and make sure she is old enough to take them if he thinks that is the problem. good luck and congs.

My son did that a couple of times. It is normal. I just think its their way of saying: I AM HUNGRY ! and I am dreaming of my mom not giving me any food. lol. Only kidding. Don't worry about it. The mind is something hard to understand.

It could be that she gets startled at something and then soothes herself back to sleep. My son would do that if someone sneezed in the room when he was sleeping.

Has she ever laughed in her sleep? My son does and its the cutest thing ever!

Congrats on your new baby!

If she just screams like once/twice at a time, don't worry about it. Sometimes they are hungry/wet, but too sleepy to fight it.
