This is an important occasion in that person's life, so give them the gift of a good memory here.

A good technique is to review good times. Review the person's past accomplishments, make them proud. Talk to your coworkers and see what stories they have that you could share.

10 minutes? my goodness that's a long time to sit and listen to someone when you are supposed to be having a party. Just talk about her high points, some of the fun challenges you faced during her time, her achievements, and your good wishes to her and her family in her retirement. Don't punish people at parties by boring them to death with a eulogy. The message and the heart felt congratulations will get across to the recipient without dragging it out.

Every one is doing his or her best in the company but as per rule every one has to be retired from service & not from life ,I wish all success & happy retired life to the staff and he/she will always remain our family member .

you should talk about the fact that they probably didn't save anthing for retirement and will be living on social security and most likely eating dog food (canned if they are lucky, dry food if they are unlucky)

then you can talk about what a nice person they are but if their breath smells like dog food they will not be welcome to visit.....

just say things like that..........
