My co-worker just told me he has the following (all new symptoms as of today):
-swollen lymph nodes
-fever
-stiff neck
-feels somewhat nauseous
-extremely sleepy/tired

Do you know what he might have? Also, are there any good websites to go to where you can diagnose yourself by inputing symptoms?

Lol we have not as yet substituted doctors with machines, and it is impossible to diagnose something just from a list of symptoms :) It could be one of several things, and this is why an examination and investigations are important at this stage.

As someone said, it could simply be an infection, a throat infection perhaps or mononucleosis, it could also be cat scratch disease, or simply a cold! However with a stiff neck its always wise to get an opinion, because of the rare possibility of meningitis. I suggest at least getting a GP over to see him, doctors are not useless, thats why i hope to become one soon :P

Any website that did that would be practicing medicine without a license, and unwise activity.

Whatever he has, it is probably viral and assuredly infectious. If he goes to the doctor and is rendered a diagnosis, then you will know what you have when you come down with it next week.

It is irresponsible of him to be at work spreading this around, and likewise irresponsible of his boss or bosses to allow him to be at work. I can only hope you are not employed in the food service industry.

Sounds like he definately has an infection. The fever and swollen glands indicate infection. Also, make sure he goes to see a doc. tests may need to be done.

That could be a lot of things, from the flu to meningitis. I don't mean to sound alarmist, but it could be serious. I hope he's on the way to his doctor. He could try WebMD in the meantime.
