What would go with it best? The walls are cream and our sofa is cream too. The fireplace isn't real wood so its not a natural colour, i think its supposed to be pine though!

With so many pale colours going on you want a darker colour on the floor, but too dark will look awful & totally detatched from the rest of the room - try a warm beech or a cherry.

beech flooring would look nice with the light fire surround or if you wanted a light flooring you could paint the surround any shad e you wanted maye to blend a little with the wall coulering but either a shade lighter or darker .

just go to a flooring shop and have a look at what colour really appeals to you more and work around that

hope this helps

With a pale/yellowy coolour, you need something that doesn't look like an attempt to match! So contrast is the key. Depending on the rest of your furniture, try the attached two links for ideas - one white 'wood' laminate and one stone effect. Alternatively, as per previous suggestion, paint the fireplace cream and then you can have any colour you want

A nice deep burgandy or hunter green. I love it when darker coloras are on the fllor, it make the room POP and hides dirt!

Laminate floors are becoming very dated and are so cold. I would definitely advise against having one.
