My computer shuts down very slow. From the moment I hit the shut down button until it stops takes about 20min.
Please advice me what to do.
Thanks.

Take it out back, beat with sledgehammer, repeat.

Just kiddding. More details would be better. What kind of computer is it? What operating system are you running? Do you have anti-virus and a firewall installed? How much RAM do you have?

I'm guessing your computer is shutting down slow either because you don't have enough RAM or because your computer is infected to the hilt with viruses, spyware, and malware.

i should the result of many programs running on your system.

to stop them, goto Start-> run

then type: msconfig

goto "Startup" tab and uncheck all of items. i promise windows don't need any of them and all of them is optional

then, goto "Services" tab.
FIRST BE SURE THAT "Hide Microsoft Services" IS CHECKED

after checking that checkbox, Microsoft Services hides.
then uncheck all of remainded non-Microsoft Services.
click on OK and restart your computer.
after your system boot, you have faster shutdown!
