In your experience, is this true? Also, where in the US are their families concentrated, and what common last names do they go by? ( until they change them!)

The Vollendorf side of my family are "Gypsies". They all work for different Carnivals and travel all over.

Gypsies do not consider outsiders to be "real people" so they do not apply the same standards of honor as they do within their own community. It is ok to rip off a "mark" but they will go to extreme lenghths to pay debts and trade fairly with other gypsies.

Traveled to Italy, gypsies would crowd you out and rob you. They are filthy thieves.

They are now recognized as A PEOPLE by the U.N.

They are Cast OFF -East Indian roman catholics.

Hence their name == ""Romani"" (pronounced).
