Heat vision bouncing off a mirror. It is so sad I know this. Personally have alwasy wondered how he cut his hair, surely the heat vision would burn it rather the cut it. ( that's even more sad isn't it?)

Well, we know that his skin can not be cut, but maybe his hair can. If not, maybe he uses a shave cream with just a hint of kryptonite in it, since that would make him vulnerable to being cut.
I haven't read the comic books that one of the others mentioned, but maybe the heat vision thing in a mirror would work too..

It's been shown in the comics that he uses a polished piece of his ship as a mirror and uses his heat vision to burn the hair off of his face.
