Without actual professional help. The "get him drunk then go" approach will not fly either... ha ha... I am dern sick of traveling alone and want to know if anyone else has over come this fear on their own... Thanks... happy flying : )

Your husband and I share the same problem. I, too, am terrified of flying. Believe me, it’s not an easy problem to solve and it’s not something to joke about either. Just the mere thought of being inside the plane 30,000 feet from the ground is enough to leave me breathless!

I guess what your husband should do (and me included) is to take real effort to solve the problem by finding a solution that he not only feels comfortable with but believe will help him overcome the fear of flying. I’m planning to fly to a nearby city which is just an hour’s flight from our city and have Xanax in my pocket just in case. I don’t intend to use it though but it might come handy when the situation goes out of hand. They say it’s very effective once taken before take off. With that in mind I’ll feel more confident as I have an antidote to fear right inside my pocket! Silly, isn’t it?
