i have been locked up in a youth prison for 6 months for grand theft auto after i got out i was on probation and had to go on the scared straight program were you visit a prison and live a day in the life of one it was the worst 9 hours i have ever had they made us cut grass with a hoe for 4 hours in the mud there wasn't even any grass there i think this program should be something all high school kids have to do its a learning experience i will never forget and i'll never steal a car again i swear by the way i was 16 then

I have not been in prison as an inmate, but I did, and do, prison ministry. I used to go inside, sometimes as a member of a gospel choir to give a concert, sometimes to help give a workshop on the Alternatives to Violence Project, and other times. I don't go inside any more, but I still do correspondence by mail with the Chuck Colson 'Pen-Pal Program', which has a pool of volunteers in D.C. and assigns volunteers prisoners to write to in oppostite ends of the country.

No, but I worked at one for 6 years. My job was to process new inmates in, photograph, fingerprint and interview them, figure their time and give them their "time cards" and release them when their time was up! Sometimes I sat in on the parole board if my boss was not available. Very interesting job.

I wasn't in Prison,but I went to jail a few times when I was young.I was drunk and they didn't want to send me home alone.
