my phone company have just sent me my new modem so i receive faster internet.its bt voyger 220v router.it came with disc to load in and i should follow instructions.when i do this will i lose any data from my pc?will everything just stay the same but it will just go faster?

The speed of the internet depends on modem only to a very minute extent, for example if you switch from a 56k modem to 128k modem you may feel a bit faster speed but changing a modem wont work wonders for you, ie you cannot get a downloading speed of 60kb on a 56k modem.
So the thing that matters most is the ISP (Internet Service Provider) you are using, so if your company has suscribed you a good ISP and has given you a suitable modem you may enjoy a faster and smooth internet connectivity.
