I've got a book around somewhere about all the fabrics from my school. I could copy them on here if you'd like.

There's a wonderful book called Fabric Savvy that gives great information on most types of fabric - care, how it flows, etc.

I highly recommend it.

I'm not sure about real information about fabric, but if you want a FABULOUS site that sells everything, try www.equilter.com. Amazing!
