Actually, no.

Steve Irwin did a lot to promote Austrailia, and the only thing John Madden does is promote football.

Though, there would be a lot of people sad, when Mr. Madden dies, like all those he coached, and watched him on the game nights, the World will still move on when he goes, as it has when Mr. Irwin died.

Steve Irwin was a great showman, and conservationalist. (I have seen on Fox News, where people have praised him with many accolades, of his accomplishments and style).

Anyone who promotes Austrailia, whether it be the Actor, Mr. Hogan (crocodile dundee fame), or Mr Irwin, (crodile hunter fame), is well recognised as promoting the land down under.

I have seen many aussies coming to America, and thier accent is getting popular around the World, because more of them are getting recognition, now that the "ice" has been broken.

I wish you well..

Jesse

No. John Madden holds a special place for guys who love Football, and his video game, but really only here in the USA. Most guys would be like "Damn" for about 2 seconds, and move on. Steve Irwin was know world wide, and women loved him.

no. john madden was just a sports reporter. i like sports, but they have done nothing to help our environment or better our world in a physical way. steve irwin encouraged us to be active in the conservation of the environment, and did so in a very entertaining way. i think a lot of ppl would be sad for john madden passing away, but i dont think he'll be remembered in the same way as steve irwin.

No. Steve Irwin was known internationally and reached a much broader audience. John Madden was known to US football fans.

I'm from Europe and I have no idea about whom you are talking. So I guess he is only an American icon unlike Steve Irwin who was known and loved internationally.

With Heartfelt Sympathy to Terri, Bindi, Bob and the rest of Steve's family and his friends

May the Croc Hunter Rest In Peace

Not at all. Irwin was an icon,In Australia, which is a much smaller country than America, as far as population is concerned, has few "heros", or people of stature, while America certainly does.Madden, on the other hand, is best known for his expertese in Pro Football, and there are people who are of equal or greater stature who, when they pass away, would be given a greater deal than he.

Who is Johm Madden? I would guess not, since I do not know that person. Unless that's the guy who does all the Madden games for PS..

I don't think so- John is old and fat and I think everyone expects him to die soon anyway. Yes it's no surprise that Irwin was killed by an animal since he spent so much time with them, but the fact that it was a normally docile creature like a sting ray was the irony that made it such a big deal...

No.. unless you are a big football fan... Irwin was known across broad ranges of society... Madden is relatively unknown to anyone except sports fans.
