Try priceline.com they let you bid on cheap airline tickets. It usually gives me the lowest rates available. Also it works really good for hotels, I always use it and get like 140 dollar hotels for about 50-70 dollars a night.

If your not stuck to a certain schedule check out spirit air on the link below just yesterday purchased tickets to Jamaica for $8 yes I typed $8. The taxes and airport fees where 4 times the ticket price. Check their red light specials once a week and you'll be off to Mexico.

That would depend on where you are staring from. What I typically do is check travelocity to find out who flies from where I want to start to where I want to go and then I check those airline websites.

Use a travel agent. Tell them you need the best price possible.
You do not pay more to a travel agent, the airline pays their fees.
