If you Decide to go with Paris try something a little different then the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Take the tour boat from Pont Nuef, it's an hour long.
Near the end of the boat ride, the guide explains how the boat is about to go under a certain bridge and the custom is to close your eyes and make a wish as you go under and kiss the person next to you and your wish will come true. Then your wish will come true. Pop the question then. The cruise is only 5 minutes to port after that. SO you can follow up with time alone or a great getaway.

or

In the evening from the Pont Alexandre III (A bridge on the Sien). the bridge is beautiful and lit at night and at the right spot you can see the Eiffel Tower lit up in the distance.

I have just come back from Paris within the last 2 weeks, the Eiffel tower is amazing in reality, and after 10 or 11 pm the lights sparkle for 10 minutes on the hour, it's beautiful, a wonderful location to propose. Bear in mind it will be very cold in October. Also there is a fabulous restaurant on the second floor of the tower called Jules verne.
Good luck with the proposal.

Paris is a gorgeous city so I dont think its corny. Just dont do the top of the eiffel tower thats corny! Another great romantic city is Prague. Id recommend that to anyone. And it is a bit different from the norm. Good luck.

Paris sounds great!!! It's betteer than how I got proposed too. My boyfriend asked me while he was drunk off a a fifth of wild irish rose. He said he was scared to ask me so he had to drink till he got the nerve. I told him if he remember what he asked me the next day I would answer him. Do you know he woke up the next morning and said you never answered my question and gave me a ring. I said yes, but it wasn't very romantic like you are. Just make it special and memorable!

no marriage proposal is corny. most all are sweet.

if you need another idea., have all your friends and her friends make a video and all of them say too her..
" say yes ( her name ) "... please say yes"...
they all suggest she says "yes" but she has no idea of the question..

kinda like that movie "the aristocrats" where every comic told the same joke ??

so all your family and friend will know that you plan to propose..
so on tape they all tell her to say "yes " etc..
then at the end of the video you are there with a ring...asking her !

You can even play the video in paris. hehehe.. best wishes

You can NEVER be too corny with proposals... I went to Rome and popped the Q in front the Trevi Fountain... she loved it and refers to it often! (lots of browny points!)

Throw in every corny trick you can think of - put the ring inside an icecube and then give her a drink!

its never too corny wherever it is, but have you really thought where she would liked to be asked. ask her where her most favourite places are, her favourite holiday destination or if you both could be anywhere at this moment where would you choose, after all there is no where better than where she would like to be and she will certainly answer you and may i say its nice to know there are still romantic guys out there!!
