No, but it's seeing someone yawn rather than reading the word yawn which makes you yawn.
It is supposed that yawning is infectious as a hark back to when we lived in tribes, and the whole tribe would go to bed at the same time. So if one person yawns, others do, and then you all go to bed.
Although that could be a load of twaddle. It is only a theory after all, and there's no way to test it.

The MythBusters on the Discovery channel did this experiment.
They found that there is no corelation between seeing someone yawn and reacting by yawning back.

Nah not yet bud but i think that yawning is infectious when you are face to face and maybe talking to someone on the phone. Not over the net dude lol

yes less than a minute after seeing your qn, i yawned.
once i saw a stray cat yawn, i yawned back at it.
