please help, i own a 1997 2ltr vauxhall calibra. just recently i've noticed a small puddle on the driveway.it's petrol. it's comin from the back somewhere. not all the time though, only intermiten. i've had a look myself but can't see where it can be comin from. it's hard to catch it leakin but believe me it;s leakin. i've even started the car to see where it's comin from but it must do it when i'm not lookin!!! any suggestions i would be very grateful. thanks

It's probably your petrol tank. If you do not do much driving, water condenses inside the tank and eventually rusts it. Have the tank inspected. They may be able to repair it without removing it.

there can only be one of three reasons for this (1) broken seal (2) small hole in pipe where it goes into tank or it could be where its after you put petrol in and a little runs from your filler pipe.
i had a similar experience with my omega and it was the tank seal

i had a cavalier and it was a seem on the tank that leaked. the whole thing needed replaced. as its a fuel leak i wouldn't wait to find it my self, get it to a garage a.s.a. leakin fuel is dangerous and illegal. good luck!

One option really mate. Drain it, remove it and see where its coming from off the car (if you suspect the tank and are sure all the pipe fittings are secure)

could be near top of tank does it do it when theres more or less petrol in ,also vauxhalls were prone to fuel pipes corroding
