It runs great, keeps perfect time, but at 9:00 it chimes once, 10:00 it chimes twice, etc....any suggestions? Please????

Jeffery S is pretty close.

The hour hand on most mechanical clocks are a slip fit on their hub and can be moved safely in either direction. The minute hand is tied mechanically to the movement and can only be moved in the clockwise direction. If you move it backward then you will damage your clock.

Next time the clock chimes for the hour, move the hour hand to match the correct hour.

Move the hour hand to whatever hour your chime is on, then move the minute hand around, allowing the chimes to work on whatever cycle they chime on, until you get back to the correct time.

The answer is simple. you need to move the clock to a time zone four hours east of where you are.
