I work for a really lousy company where people don't have common decentcy and respect for other human beings like they should. I am leaving for more reasons then that, but I am trying to keep the drama short. Is it wrong to only give 2 weeks notice? I put the question in this catagory to get more responses/advise

Two weeks is the proper amount of time. Sometimes you have to weigh out everything. If one week is all you can stand, then just give one week. Your next employer should understand if you explain to them the reasons why you left this job. Good luck!

2 weeks notice is the general time frame for quitting anyway. That is as it should be. 1 week notice is far more iffy, but if it can't wait the 2 weeks for any reason, then its still better than walking off the job or something equally as short.

Give 2 weeks notice it's the right thing to do. Chance's are the will tell you to hit the brick's before the 2 week's are up.

give your 2 weeks. sit and talk with the boss dont ever burn your bridges you might need it later in life always leave on a good note. It might be a little hyppocrytical but at least you can leave and still have that place as a good reference. Leave with giving that you have an opportunity you can't pass up and thank them for everything they have done. BE PROFESSIONAL

Companies don't give a crap about employees so don't worry about the company !!! Would a company tell you months in advance if they were going to lay you off or fire you ??? Hell no they wouldn't !!!!

as long as your sure that your next venture is going to work out, leave now! if you were going to get fired, they would not give you 2 weeks to get used to the idea, so what do you owe them?

Any amount of notice is better than nothing. Just look at it that way.
