My wife, and a couple of co-workers, all of whom are about 6 years younger than I, have a little war going on--we're going to settle it with Yahoo Answers.
Here's the argument: wife, and some female co-workers, say that a man should be stylish whatever age he is, and that I need to go way shorter with the hair. I say that mature men look silly when they try to look like younger men. Who's right?
Note: My feelings and the length of my hair are not connected, so no "do what makes you feel good" crap. I tried this last night and it ended in a tie because some people were too wimpy to express an opinion. I'm counting on the day crowd to 1) have a spine, and 2) agree with me. (of course)

(Folks--I pretty much feel good every day, and I would still if I was bald, or had a pony tail)

I like it a bit longer on white men, dark men look best in shorter hair or bald heads...I don't know why, it's just the way it is for me.....you're cute by the way;)

My babysitter's son is 40 ~ he has hair down his back that reaches to his buttocks. I love it! My husband's head is almost shaved. I wish he would grow his hair long. He won't and it is his head so I don't bother. Personally, I think long hair on a man is GREAT no matter what age. As long as it is clean and well taken care of why should it matter. I am very jealous of the length of this man's hair. I haven't cut my daughters hair once since she was born 2 1/2 years ago, and I would have done the same if she had been a boy! LONG HAIR is GREAT. I am 43 year old professional woman and love the hair.

Well if you want my personal opinion I like hair shorter. As long as it is not touching the shoulders I'm happy. Also I do not like any styling product that makes the hair feel hard or gunky. The styling product part goes for men and women. Natural is better. Anyway I hope this helps.

I much prefer a guy with short hair. Actually, the crew cut look is kinda jumping out at me right now. Long hair on a guy is just, oh what is the word I'm looking for, horrible. I hate it. If I wanted hair falling down in my face while we were ummm being intimate, I would be doing it with a girl. I like to have the long hair.......

Any man whom has long hair will come to a point in his life where he will want to be taken seriously whether its for a job interview, something legal, the list goes on and on... right????/ A long haired man is pinned as a druggie, alcoholic, usually has or had more drama than daytime soap operas... If your asking for my opinion men's hair short gives off a much neater appearance.

I am 39 and when I was younger always had long hair...however a couple of years ago I took a pet of electric shears to my head and went bald / extremely short anyways and I love it. No worries like where is the brush, how does my hair look, hat head etc...Go bald you wife wont be able to keep her hands off you!!

I think that some men look good with long hair no matter what their age. If you are balding- that is definitely NOT a good look - long hair at the sides!:( (my art history prof with a chrome dome used to say "If it's gonna go, let it glow"). Ultimately, it's the individuals decision. Not anyone elses. and who's to say that short hair is more stylish?

I personally think that just like on women,,some men look good in long hair and some do not,I am 48 and my husband has long hair and i think he looks great in it,,if his hair was short he would be one that didn't look as good.I have also seen men who needed a hair cut,so I really think it is up to the person who has to wear it.I know this isn't much help but just wanted to state my feelings on it.

My bf is in his mid-40s and wears his hair in a short military cut. Looks great on him.
One of my long-time friends is also in his mid-40s and wears his hair down to his mid back and in a braid. Looks great on him.
Sorry to disappoint you -- but because everyone is different, do what makes you feel good!

I think it depends on them. If they look good with long hair then they should wear it long but as long as it is kept nice and not greasy and stringy.
Personally I love long hair whether you be young or old.
