No wonder some people end up throwing them out a window

Babies cries seem to be designed to be irritating, probably for the reason that they need such intense care during the first part of their lives.
The highly irritating cry will get the parent's attention and hopefully a quick solution.

They are designed that way! To get your attention they utterly rely on you! With out an adults help they die.

Ignore the comments from people that don t live in the real world or pretend not to. Yes its really annoying and being angry and stomping down the stairs is normal.Thinking bad thoughts like throwing them out the window is a sign of post natal depression. If its your baby you must see a doctor. She/He will test you and then give you medication which is fantastic. They may also send you on a course with other Mums who feel the same and thats liberating. (I had PD with my second child)

If the baby is not yours then don t have any till you feel its the right time. If there ever is one. Theres no shame in not wanting kids!

They always cry it for a reason. Hungry, too hot, too cold, need a hug, pooped etc.

If a baby is crying, then there's something wrong or something that needs tending to. If you take care of the problem, the baby stops crying. Wow. Very simple. An infant does not know how to function in a manipulative manner: ie. crying just to annoy you personally.

My advice: never have kids if you think throwing a baby out a window is a solution to crying!

As a new mother myself, I remember those times when I just couldn't stand to hear the baby cry. My husband and I tried for years, and are on the old-side, so we really wanted this baby and were emotionally/financially prepared. But we both could see how overwhelming it all could be if having the baby was not your first choice. It's hardest when you don't know why they're crying (for us, he was hungry! Not enough breast milk.)

I disagree with other postings here. Some babies do cry for "no reason". Or at least not a reason that you can do much about (i.e. colic). If your child is crying often check with the doctor: could be reflux, allergy to milk, etc.

It helps if you have other adults with you while you're watching the baby, so you don't feel isolated. Also, please get a babysitter so you have time to yourself.

Good luck. It gets better.

Of course it's annoying at times so there's nothing wrong with letting them cry in a safe place for a while. I had a baby boy six weeks ago and sometimes after I've changed him, fed him, rocked him, walked him, it still seems nothing will calm him. Rather than become annoyed by an innocent baby, I place him in his bassinet and close the door. After 5 or 10 minuets I've had time to calm down and he has also gotten his restlessness out of his system.

Babies cry and usually means that they are in need of something. A baby cryin is not hurting them it actually inprove their lung capacity which is awesome.

I sometimes get really frustrated when my daughter cries and everything I do isn't stopping her. I don't know why people are getting upset about your spittle about throwing baby out the window because some mommy's have thoughts but Im hoping that you will not act on it. Put the baby down in the crib or somewhere safe and walk away outside where you can't hear him/her. Give yourself a calming down time and then go and try to calm your baby down again.

Things to look for: diaper change, food, burp, thirsty, fever, bites/stings, anything that might be tight on him/her, sick, etc.?

If you would like to chat you can send me a message.

Umm HELLO?! Babies rarely cry for no reason & really only do it if they need something because that is their only way to communicate since they can't exactly talk yet! I don't personally have any kids yet but I hang out with a friend of mine all the time & she has a 3 month old. I don't find it annoying at all when he cries. We both find it cute (cause he's so cute) & hearing him cry is a good indicator that his lungs are working well. As long as you know different ways to comfort a child then they shouldn't cry for long & it shouldn't be annoying then. Now colic, that's a different story, you can't really do much to comfort a baby if they have that. You pretty much just have to let them cry. Put in some ear plugs if you find it so "annoying". Geeez......

Hi, if you are dealing with post partum depression, this is a common symptom. I suggest calling your doctor as they can help you. Whatever you do, don't hurt the baby. If you have to, lay the baby down in a safe place (crib, bassinet) and go into the next room for a few minutes. Just breathe and try to calm down. If you're sure the baby's not hot, hungry, cold, doesn't have a dirty diaper, etc, then all you can do is try to soothe the baby. Try walking with him or rocking him or singing to him, or any combination. The baby may have gas--sometimes simethicone drops help that. Good luck to you.

No I don't. My daughters cry is sweet and innocent. Besides, babies don't cry for no reason. They are cold, hungry, hot, sick, tired, wet or dirty...the key to get them to stop is to figure out what is wrong with them. They aren't able to talk, so that is how they communicate with you. You may want to learn to communicate what it was that you were trying to say a little better. Seems you angered a few people by getting quite a few 'thumbs down' ratings.
Be carful of what you say, because you can never take it back!

Yeah sometimes I do find my son's crying really annoying but I know he is just a baby and doesn't get he is driving me nuts. I also know it's not going to be forever that I have to deal with it and I also know I wanted him more than anything in this world so I have to deal with it.
