I can see why people like free agency, but i'm not a fan. All the development put in those youngsters would be for nothing. Most players (unless their a freakish talent) enter their prime around 23-26. Waste a waste of time that would be if they left when they were 24. Imo they should change it to 9 years at least. And gfc is right, the big clubs are the only ones who will benefit from this.

Arena and CFL I have no idea. The NFL league minimum salaries are as follows:
Rookie - $260,000
1 year - $305,000
2 year - $380,000
3 year - $455,000
4 to 6 years - $540,000
7 to 9 years - $665,000
10+ years - $765,000

NFL minimum is approx. $250,000
Arena averages approx. $ 15,000 per season depending on the position.
CFL I'm not sure of since I haven't seen a copy of a collective bargaining agreement or such.
