Lead singer Brandon Flowers mentioned he hoped that the Killers would, like the Beatles, be a band that "left a mark," do you think they will?

Well, they have already made a mark with Hot Fuss, and although I'm not at all impressed with When You Were Young, based on the other songs I've heard off of Sam's Town thus far, they aren't going to be a one-album-wonder.
Their fan base is going to take a hit, I imagine, because, let's just say this:
October 3rd will be Judgement Day for the Killers, and it also be the day when Island Records says, "Hello, world, meet the new Killers.".
Sam's Town is not what everyone is expecting, but it is surely a very good album.

Oh, absolutley not. They have potential, yes, and the Hot Fuss album is a fav of mine...but when it comes to Brandon Flowers and the gang...they need to find their niche i.e. their own style to play...before they even begin to imagine leaving a mark as memorable as The Beatles'.
Now, I've been listening to rock music for a LONG time now, all types basically. I've paid careful attention to who I think is gonna make it, and who's gonna break.
Green Day: they've made it, and they're gonna go further
Weezer: were goin somewhere and shocked the hell outta me when they broke up
Panic! At the Disco: they had they're fifteen minutes, and soon, we won't hear from them again
Fall Out Boy: see above
The Killers: had a good sound, and a good reign, but they're seriously gonna have to pull something AMAZING out of their asses to make it as big as they think they will.
peace out.

Defenitely! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE The Killers! Besides the fact that Brandon Flowers is HOTT, their music is awesome! I think they will do good with their second album. Their first album did so well!

I guess it all sits on this 2nd album. Considering how the new single's doing, I think don't think they'll fizzle out.
