All groups of people had that attached when they first immigrated. As greenhorns, the immigrants didn't know simple things that others took for granted. They were often uneducated country people. Dumb Micks, and Dumb Dagos walked our streets until they assimilated. The jokes told on Poles are told on other ethnic groups , depending on what part of the country you're in. Polack or Italian jokes up north are the same ones told on the Texas Aggies.
(somber pieces) is typically full of racist sh!t and is the reason blacks will always be known as contentious idiots.

Well a lot of people might be surprised to hear that most people who know anything about punk don't look anything like the Exploited. When that outfit was shocking or the slightest bit original maybe it was cool, but it's become basically exactly what punk was orginally opposed to, a uniform, a set of standards to be adhered to. Don't get me wrong, if that's really the image you want, go for it, but no outfit makes you punk or gives you credibility. And Smiley, one of the two of us was missing the point of that post from our "leader". Because I've expressed the same frustration with certain people thinking that just because they like music with complex guitar parts and whimsical storylines and really really long and often conceptual songs and albums that their taste is superior to someone who likes music centered around simple riffs and and a different ideology. But like I said, certain people, not all fans of prog have lofty opinions of their taste, but those few loud ones who do can get very irritating, and so I agree with the "leader" on this point because I don't believe he was making a blanket statement. And I don't think that not liking a certain genre makes you any less of a rock and pop fan, not everyone's taste is all-encompassing, what's silly is to say that you don't like any of a certain genre and never will, because no genre actually adheres to it's "rules (not all punk is simple and fast not all prog is complex and long). But if 90+% of a genre bores you to tears then I don't see any problem with avoiding it, some things just don't fit a person's taste. And especially with the asker of the question in mind I want to make sure it's clear that I have nothing against prog fans, especially (most of) the ones on this board. Oh, and I hate hearing people say "The Sex Pistols were just a boy band!!!!" because it's BS. Having a manager that gets you publicity, puts together a few outfits, and steals all your money hardly makes you a boy band. And up until the final months their outfits were all homemade DIY things anyways. They wrote their own songs, performed them live (very well), and used the opportunities they got in the public eye to get their own ideas across. I honestly have no idea how people come to the conclusion that they were "manufactured", unless you actually believe what Malcolm McLaren says, even though everyone who has ever met the man has gone on record saying he's full of s**t.

I've known many intelligent Polish people.
My guess is because the Poles were always duped by imperial powers like Russia and Germany. Both countries divided up Poland more times than the Thanksgiving Turkey.

Well that's the first I've heard of that one, but I would put it down to jealousy as they are FAR harder workers than the rest of us, hence the reason employers are taking them so easily! Good for them, I say. We deserve to be shown up for the layabouts we collectively are!
Simply a stereotype put forward by those who feel guilty about being shown up by "foreigners", in my humble opinion.

Uhmm because of typical redneck logic, that trailer-park-trash are basically retards and all foreigners should be shipped back.
The irony is that at one time or another, everyone's ancestor was an immigrant to the US of A. So if you're an American, aren't you still a foreigner too?
Thats hypocrisy at work again.
