hobbies give us a way to express ourselves in a different way than areas in our everyday lives. they give us a break from routine and allow us to do the things we love without as much pressure from outside sources. they help us become more emotionally balanced people.

Hobbies are things you like to do. And if you get a job that is based on your hobbies then congrats! Cause you found a job you actually enjoy! And happiness is a big part of what you need in life. So go and find yourself a job that you'd like cause it's also your hobby! Don't care if it's not too paying... just get a job you'd enjoy doing, that's all I'm saying.

At 8, I started building model airplanes from kits. Then moved on to tanks, submarines, battleships, and military vehicles. It gave me a great sense of history and design, especially as the boxes and directions including little snippets of what this particular plane did during the Battle of Britain, how much this particular bomber's maneuvarability was compromised due to being converted to a night fighter, etc. I probably know as much as I do about World War I, World War II, and Cold War defenses by all those hours spent putting little plastic pieces together with glue and paint.
It also helped me lose weight as I wasn't bored and prone to eat junk to liven up my day. I've skipped 1-2 mealtimes by being so wrapped up in my hobby!

Repetition of any event leads to perfection. eg. If i decide that at every mid-night, i must wake up from my bed to read my books. At first, i would find it very difficult even when i set an alarm. But with time, you find out that at every hour of midnight, i would naturally wake up even b4 the alarm.

You waste hours on end on something that has no real purpose but to amuse and entertain you. You also use up a lot of money.

because you learn new things and you meet other people with the same interest instead of just sitting on the couch watching reruns.
