It was very hot - we went in July/August and it was very hot. Apart from that, pleasant people, lots to see and do - we stayed in Malta and went across to Gozo for a couple of days. It was nice enough, but I wouldn't go back at that time of year as it was just too hot.

I have been to Malta!
It is a nice place, cute and small! A lot of old buildings well preserved.
In antiquity it was called Meliti, of course by the Greeks and there was the Oracle of Artemis, specialized in foundation of new cities in and out of the Mediterranean Sea. Greeks, especially from Crete were on Malta more than 4,500 year ago!
It is worth of visiting and learn the Truth!

Yes! i lived in malta for a year and it is fabulous!!! i LOVED it!
it is a really fun island if you know where to go... if you like going out and night clubs then Paceville/ St. Julians is the area to go.... valletta is the capital its very old and dusty... but interesting.
sliema is where all the shopping is... and gozo is amazing, so beautiful!!! you have to go there....
the people are generally nice, but not as friendly as some other places in europe. its extremely safe there barely any crime.. mainly some pickpockets, but nothing serious.
there are buses to get around and they are very cheap.
the people speak maltese and english. maltese is a very difficult language and so hard to understand, but most speak english so you will get around just fine.
if you go, i suggest staying at the hotel juliani.
hope you have a great time there!!

Malta,Yeah its nice and hot with lots of old relics.Lots of bars for drinking etc.The island is tiny and you can travel around on buses very cheaply English is spoken freely ideal for sightseeing.Gozo is very idealic and has a lot of ancient sites too.You can get to siciliy from here on a ferry in about 4 hours.I personally think its a bit too hot in the summer so leave it til about september/october for more bearable climate. Its a bit of a time warp(which ithink is good thing) like the Leyland trucks, old shop fronts, etc.people generally are polite and kind.
