I work at a middle school and we have a game coming up....I want to show school spirit along with our cheerleaders...what can I use to add graffiti on a pair of jeans? Marker will probably wash out. Also, how ideas what I can use that's going to be washer safe? Any links? I want to give them a destroyed look.

Sharpies work well... My parents hated it, but I would do it all of the time when I was in high school... They come in all sorts of colors now - you can get really creative.

Fabric paints are relatively inexpensive, available in many colors, completely washable, and only take overnight to dry (though they recommend 24 hours). They are easy to use and easy to see from a distance. They also don't stain your skin at all (unlike sharpies). However, the 3D paint can sometimes "stick" to bleachers and seats, though it doesn't come off or hurt the design. A brand called Scribbles 3D Paint has worked very well for me and is available at JoAnn craft stores. The have glittering colors as well as shiny and matte. I create different effects using Q-tips. Nail polish remover can fix any mistakes (when still wet).

There are all sorts of fabric paints that you can get at your local craft store. Just read the directions on them first if you don't want them to wash out. I think you need to heat set the paint after it dries before you wash them for the first time...(?)
